benchmark. lays cornerstone for "Hyatt House" in Eschborn

Frankfurt project developer building long-stay hotel

REAL Estate Development GmbH (benchmark.) today laid the cornerstone for the construction of a new hotel in Eschborn. The tenant of the property is HR Group, which will be opening a long-stay hotel at Frankfurter Strasse 77 with its franchise partner, Hyatt. The hotel in the Rhine-Main region is the second "Hyatt-House" in Deutschland. benchmark. will be investing well over 20m Euro in the project. The company expects completion to be reached in the fourth quarter of 2019.

The project developer will be realising a concept in the so-called mid-scale segment, the equivalent of a three to four-star standard. In a departure from classical hotel models, it will be targeted primarily at guests who are planning a longer stay. A total of 190 rooms will be created over a floor area of just under 8,900 m². Around two thirds of the rooms will be equipped with kitchenettes, compact but fully-functional kitchen units. The ground floor will accommodate a lounge with reception area and a café, offering breakfast, beverages and snacks. In addition, there will be around 95 car parking spaces for guests. The aim of the concept is to provide high standard of accommodation. The in-house services available to guests will include an all-day "H-Market", a fitness studio area and a laundry room.

"We see enormous potential for the new 'Hyatt House' in Eschborn thanks to its proximity to Frankfurt's trade fair and financial districts, but also because the Rhine-Main region is becoming ever-more attractive for tourists. In terms of overnight stays, the past year was a record-year right across the state of Hesse and we are convinced that this trend is set to continue", says benchmark. managing partner, Götz U. Hufenbach.

The "Hyatt House" is being built by LIST Bau Rhein-Main as the turn-key general contractor. "We are delighted that we will be expanding our hotel portfolio with our long-standing partner benchmark.", says Marco Schütz, managing director of LIST Bau Rhein-Main. A lot has already happened on site, particularly below the ground: "The foundations and ground slab are already concreted. Even the ground floor is beginning to take shape, with some of the columns and walls already standing. Around the beginning of September, we expect to be carrying out works to complete the ground-floor ceiling deck", adds Schütz.

Hyatt already offers the long-stay concept at 75 locations worldwide, including USA, China and Puerto Rico. The brand has one other location in Germany, with its house in Düsseldorf.
